Bike advise?

I'm looking to get my first bike soon(ish), and I'm looking for advise on a good "starter" cruiser. I don't want something I'll need to trade in in 6 months, and I'd like something I can eventually have a passenger on the back of (once I'm more comfortable of course). I'm 6'2" and weigh between 190 and 200lbs. I'm looking at a V Star 650 or a Triumph Speedmaster...but I'm open to and would appreciate suggestions.

Prior experience? MSF course grad? Being 6'+, find one that's comfortable. Nothing is more uncomfortable riding than being on a bike that really doesn't "fit" you. Vstar 650 is a good bike, still can ride 2 up well above highway speeds. No experience with the Triumph myself.
