CarMax Is Crazy...

....if they think I'm going to sell them my vehicle for $6K less than what they are going to sell it for.

I went there last night just hoping for a mediocre offer to avoid the hassle of selling it myself. A friend went there not too long ago to sell her Jeep and they gave her an outstanding amount of money for it (I wonder if she boned the guy for the deal??? ) so I decided to give them a try. Waste of half an hour.

Now I guess I'll advertise the Tacoma and have to wade through the waves of people who aren't serious and will just be wasting my time but in the end it's worth the $$$.

Has anyone here ever sold a car to them and felt like they got a good or even just an OK deal?????

They will always give you the lowest of the low trade-in/buy.
They were going to give me $1500 for my 94 Nissan pickup a couple years ago. I sold it for $3500.

I recently went in to see what the bottom of the barrel was for my 97 Pthfinder. They offered me $8600. They're sellin comparable vehicles on their lot for $12,900.
Forget it. It's a good base point to start your own private sale or negotiate a trade at another dealer, and thats about it.

All IMO, of course.

I went in to see what they would give me for mu Montero Sport.

$6K less than Blue Book/Edmunds/Cars.com/NADA.

No thanks. I'll just keep making the payments and fielding odd phone calls.
