I'm planning on heading up to Jennings GP tommorow for a track day Monday, but the forcast is 60-70% chance of thunderstorms. I've never been on a track before so I've been waiting a long time for this. I don't want to drive six hours for this crap

my first track day sucked because it poured all day long, was 40 degrees, windy as hell....oh, and I was on a R1 with 207s :eek :shake

been there, done that :D But, if you've never been on a track I would advise you to still go out there and ride slow if the rain is light. You can use this time to get acquainted with the track and learn the lines so that next time you can go out with more confidence.

Good luck :thumb

I'm not driving six hours to get dumped on my first time at the track. I'll wait until next weekend.

My first track day was at Jennings GP in the pouring rain. My avatar picture is on my warmup lap of one of the sessions before I started hanging off.

Everytime I see that avatar, I think "screw that, I'll wait until it evaporates"

However, I got to admit I am always a little sketchy while riding in the rain on the streets. I'd like a little wet track time to build my confidence of the bike's/tire's limits in the rain. Not for my first time, though.

Well last year I did a track school in the rain (on and off all day) and found out that I'm not slower on a wet track than I am when it's dry.

I think it's time for me to SPEED THE HELL UP! ;)

Well, FWIW - You missed a great track day from all reports. It dried out and got nice.
