Pocono FUSA, Sept 14th w/ TPM

who's going?

i'm interested but the only thing that's holding me back is, do you think we'll get plenty of track time? TPM at pocono gets crowded.

manny and drew: i think you guys did 2 FUSA dates with TPM this year right? did you guys get plenty of track time?

Since its on a thursday hopefully less riders will come out and play

Of course you know I'll be there :p

This past August FUSA was light --- but the thought is that it was only light because there was a 2-day Beaver event immediately after. I don't think there's a similar case here. It -might- be crowded.

i'm thinking about it, i'll probably wait until a few days before the event and call TPM. If they don't have too big of a number, i'll probably go.

I'm definitely going to Oct. 2nd - summit main. You guys should come. I'll start a thread soon.

no, i didn't sign up once i saw white was full. It's okay though, i'm excited about october at Summit. If i don't have too much work that day, maybe i'll come out and hang out with y'all.

FYI: to make matters worse, just called tpm to ask if we have the garages. As far as he knew we do not have the garages so bring your Ez-ups.

that can't be possible, you guys are gonna use the whole track, who else is gonna be there?:confused

it miserable here. lot of puddles turn 1 is pretty much under water

Very interesting day. First of all, we all stayed safe, so I'm happy about that. Very good day to get over your fear or apprehension of wet weather riding.

The afternoon did get rough though. Lots of water building up on other turns. Plus my damn visor was fogging up badly. I had to crack it open a good amount to see anything, but when I hit the straights at a high speed, the wind force would slam my visor shut, and would fog up instantly. Made my last 2 sessions pretty miserable.

Overall though, I still had fun and it was definitely a good learning experience. But I think this is enough rain to last me a LONG time.

glad you guys stayed safe. FYI, there's still a couple of track days left, summit main on oct. 2nd sounds good, you guys should come!!!! :D

Ken that poncho is great. Flapping around on the back of your bike, hehe. I got some great pics of it on Omar's camera.

because i was under water:rant

all i can say is, it sux butt riding in heavy rain. the weather didn't let up. our feet and hands were soaked. the visors kept fogging up and the handle bar grips were starting to come loose. my bike kept hydro-planing on turn 1 and 7. even after softening the suspension, i still couldn't feel the road.
to make matters worse, our lonely red group of only 6 riders were combined with the blue:rant .
most of the blue have rain tires and i could swear they had traction control as well. some of these guys were knee down on some turns. every time into turn 1, they part the red sea and it comes crashing down on me. after about 4 or 5 sessions, i called it quits.
overall, it was pretty bad, but it was an experience. lesson learned.
good thing is, we all stayed upright and in one piece.

I'm right there with you. I cant stand rain riding. Theres nothing fun about it to me. BUT. If I had too (As a coach I have to ride in the rain) Pocono is the best place to do it. The grip in the rain on that track is impressive.

no i think you guys were much tougher to keep going out session after session in that rain.. at least i got to sit and be a bum :)
