Hi folks, one of the dealers in town has a new '01 F4i that they haven't sold in a while so they are selling it for cheap to get rid of it and I was thinking of buying it. The question I have is for you F4i owners, are there any problems with that years model? ie. rotors warp easy, CCT problems, anything? If there is something that likes going wrong with this bike I'd like to know before I buy it.

Besides the CCT issue which every CBR seems to have, no there aren't any issues with the bike. Some say the seat is uncomfy, I personally don't have all that big an issue with it. THe seat also can get quite warm in the middle of summer, again not that big an issue. If you can get a good deal on it I'd jump, they are a wonderful bike to own.

I personally enjoy taking the wife's F4i out everynow and then. It doesn't have the lowdown power of say...hmm...a 919, but it's got more than enough power to entertain even the most agreassive rider.
We haven't had any problems with the bike at all. The seat was too hard, so she put more padding in it. We might replace it with a Corbin or custom Sargent seat eventually, but that's about it. There is a small noise that I think is the CCT, but it's nothing that's affecting the day to day performance of the bike. It's a great bike and I'm sure it'll last for years to come. Two thumbs up

Thanks for the link ldawg. Looks like people are replacing the CCT every 8-10 thousand miles. I guess thats not as bad as it could be. I'll just have to see what kind of deal I can swing on the new bike.

CCT is the only problem, other then that, I can't think of any major problems.

many problems with F4i:
1) some girl told me my F4i was "cute". WTF? the F4i is NOT CUTE!!! it's a well tuned racing machine... which is NOT CUTE!!!
2) inspires too much confidence... unsurpassed speed and acceleration, awe inspiring handling, total stability no matter how hard you push it... Equals to one thing: sirens chasing you!!!
3) damn that CCT
