so i'm trying to replace my grips, but the throttle bar end is freaking messed up. basically, the it feels like the bolt holding in the bar end is stripped and it won't come out. any ideas?
Try wedging a screw-driver between the bar-end and the clip-on. Probably best to try it from the underside of the bar-end so you don't scuff things up.
1) Take proper sized screwdriver and insert it into screw.
2) take hammer and pound it a few times to firmly seat screwdriver into screw
3) heat end of screw be careful not to melt your throttle tube. you need just enough heat to soften the locktite.
4) try to unscrew.
I would not do any of that unless you absolutely have to. Go buy an impact driver. They are only 15 bucks.
allot of bar ends have a rubber piece inside that expands as you tighten the bolt to grip the inside of the clip-on. when you have loosened the bolt and it still won't come out it only needs to be lubed and pulled out mang. :thumb
