Weekend was terrific! Saturday was CROWDED!!! Practice was tough with so many people out there but the weather could not have been nicer on Saturday.

Yes, there was a crash where the rider was life-flighted, probably to JMH. It only took about 15 minuted out og the practice time awaiting the whirly bird. I would have to say that there were 4-5 get-offs in each session. People were really pushing themselves pretty hard...as well as there were quite a few 1st-timers there in their uellow-shirts, all of which went of the track several times.

Since we did not pre-reg, there was quite the delay in getting registered and then on the track but all in all it was a great day.

Sunday was cold and wet. The morning practice session allowed for us to dry off the track so when the racing got under way, all was well for fast action. I think that every race had 35-65 bikes in it, so the track was full all the time.

Casey and I decided to race the second race, Amateur GTO, so that we would have a chance to compete with one another. I took 13th and he was 18th

Casey was then in race #9, Middle Weight Super Sport. This class is always huge and today was no exception. There were 48 contenders and I think Casey took 36th.

Race 13 was my last race, Formula 40, the old-farts group. It was a surprizingly large group but I was able to pull out a top 10 finish in the amateur class!

The cold weather had come in as the day progressed so when my last race was completed, we packed up and headed home. I will check my camera in the morning to see if any shots made it home and them post them up.

Wow what a blast! That last pics was from the last race. I started the race with my helmet on, but went so fast it just flew right off! Luckily I had put some high speed gel in my hair and beard, so the wind wasn't an issue. :laughing :laughing
