Before you do hoss, call their corporate offices. I have a X1, and I love it. However, the mounting brackets that come stock with the unit always was a tad on the sucky side, and at finally at speeds of 150, the braket broke. If I had not 'felt' it, I would not have had enough time to grab the unit, as it fell off the helmet.
I called, and fussed....and after 3 calls, and 2 managers later, they offered to send me a new braket for free. Upon my fussing that I did not want the same cheap flimsy one, they sent me a heavier duty one...and it has worked wonderfully.
Their customer service was superb, and I came away happy. Try their corporate, before parting the puppy out. They definately come in handy, on larger group rides.
If you do end up wanting to get rid of it, contact Zrexrob first, as I think he is in need of 2 units.
