I've got some time on my hands right now, so I was thinking about giving my bike a real thorough cleaning... does anyone have any good suggestions on how to "refresh" their scratched up plastics w/o buying new ones? I used to use heavy duty rubbing compound, and it worked ok... Just fishing for other suggestions.

Any abrasive will clean 'em right up, but....it will also knock off the gloss that protects them from dirt stains in the first place. The next time you ride in the dirt expect them to get dirtier sooner and be harder to clean. I only use a mild detergent or maybe the new "orange" Greased Lighting cleaner and let the scatches stand, as well earned war-wounds.

Completely clean plastics with bleach white ,knock down deep scratches with sand paper then heat plastic(not gastank) with hair dryer or heat gun till it softens and fills in scratches voila works on every plastic but yamaha blue.
