Wow. How bad do we need some coaching changes for the UT football program?

No doubt, I was so pissed the whole second half my wife locked me in my office to watch the rest of it.

Just to think Mack gets 2.1 million a year to get beat by a team ranked out of the top 10
Way to go Longhorns:redflip

sorry Albin just have to rub it in

LOL. I am not a longhorn fan either so for me it was a good game.
Holiday Bowl

I couldn't agree more about the coaching. Here's a team that was pissed about having to go to the Holiday Bowl thinking they deserved a better opponent. They were so busy acting dissed they forgot that a bunch of men would show up ready to play smash-mouth football. I've never seen a game so dominated by a free safety. Duh.... put a fullback on his ass.

In my opinion the program has gone soft. It sounds stupid but the change started with the addition of the practice bubble and the pampering of the marquis athletes. I say take down the bubble. Practice hard in the elements. Quit picking favorites, and put warriors in the game. Play to win instead of trying not to lose.

Enough of this rant, but it's a shame. And they should be ashamed. They are great athletes with mediocre leadership.

What an effort..... I had to flip around to other channels I was so sick watching it. And to think everyone was upset by not geting into a BCS bowl. I picked Wash. to cover in my bowl pick em, but damn!
of course all us Longhorns watched the game Albin :redflip . and yes we were very disappointed :mad . wtf was M.Brown doing smiling throughout the 2nd half??? somebody should've slapped him, they were getting their asses handed to 'em. he need to be more aggressive w/ his team IMHO :rant .
Mack Brown = Mr. February! :laughing

On letter of intent day everyone will be praising him again as he pulls in another top 5 class. I swear he used to be a used-car salesman in a previous life, I have no idea how he consistently gets 5, 6, 7+ guys to commit at the same position in one class.

If I were a Longhorn I'd be calling for Spurrier. He likes living in the south and you know he'll want to go to a big time program. UT fits the bill.

tyler, all the fans want him fired. although, the athletic director is in love with him. after the ou massacre this year, the ad said he deserves a raise. :mad anyways mack is getting a bonus of $1.5 million since its his birthday, while he gets an annual raise of $250,000, plus his $2.1 million base salary.
therefore, we want him fired and we want spurruier, but its not as easy as that. they will not fire him no matter what. plus, mack is signed through 2011. we are fucked.
I agree with Albin and Fah_Keeney. We are screwed and stuck with Mack.

I read one article after the A&M game how some people were braggin cause Mack has beat A&M for like 4 years straight. Don't mention though that the A&M teams have not been as stellar as they used to be.

Bohl's had a good write up in yesterday's paper:

I heard UT has layed heavy pressure on Mack to let go the two coordinators - Davis and ???, and the two more assitants are going to be released including Mad Dog.

The defensive coordinator, Carl Reese, resigned this morning. I heard last night that pressure was being put on Mack to get rid of some of the staff, and that he was very hesitant to. Lots of people are talking about the possibility of Spurrier coaching at UT.
no i think that's just a joke, spurrier wouldn't fit UT and texas. i think Davis should have resigned as well. he's so predictable during big game and is too conservative .

I don't care if we keep every single member of the coaching staff so long as we get rid of Davis. That man is the worst offensive coordinator I've ever seen. Nevermind the fact that just about every fan has been calling for his head since his first season.

Nothing is so aggravating as watching him goon up a perfectly winnable game.

oh ya... and WHAT THE HELL MACK....who declines a penalty on third down when you didn't make the 1st down running. You woulda had 3rd and 5 vice 4th and 2.... I couldn't believe that shit.

/just another pissed off alum

ps- and no, I don't think Spurrier (while a good coach) would fit at Texas or do as well in the Big12.
the ad as well as some big boosters said yesterday that they did not put any pressure on mack. they just heard about those rumors. def. cord. Reese resigned without being forced to. soooooooo, the ut administration thinks that mack and his assistants are doing a dandy job.

yes, that's correct!! everyone above him thinks he's doing a FINE job :rolleyes . what's wrong w/ Dodds and faulkner (even though he's trying to stay out of all this). we need someone who'll win against strong ranked teams :mad .
