Garmin GPS maps

Anyone have a Garmin Worldsource whatever maps CD that can PM me and tell me if it's worth a shit or not ? I bought the Etrex Legend, it's pretty cool for the price, but I need MORE MAP DETAIL.

If you move this to Gadgets and Gizmos, I will ban myself. Then you create more work for Rezin, because he has to unban me if he even wants to, then everyone is pissed off. Just talk to me about maps.

I got the Mapsend streets and destinations and it is not worth a damn. All it is good for is uploading rudimentary waypoints and routes to the GPS. Anything more than a few turns and a short distance is next to impossible.

I really hate it and want my money back. I have been looking for something better for a long time.
Well WTF that's terrible news! Do you at least get accurate local street resolution from the maps ??
I read more good than bad reviews but it was such a small cross section of people that doesn't mean a whole lot, I know. Sssshit. PM me if you woulnd't mind, I'd like to check them out somehow but I don't want to waste the money either....... but don't want to jerk you around and benefit from your expenses..... fark. Anyway, I'ma PM you, if you don't have the time that's cool but I want to at least see if the low level accuracy is worth a hoot.......
sorry bud, i only have the roads and recreation map for the street pilot III. but the new garmin ique is pretty damn cool and reasonably priced.
hey s'all good..... any light shed is appreciated, I'm new to the whole GPS thing. (I'm trying to make my draganfly completely autonomous). I expect it to fail miserably, but might as well try!
The quality of the map itself is fine. It's more the fact that the software is hard to use. Bascially, all it is good for is making waypoints and building very basic routes.

If all you are going to use it for is to place waypoints and communicate with the GPS, it will work. But for the $80 or so it will set you back, there has to be a better option.

If this were 1996 it would be a great piece of software.

I use it to talk to my GPS and that's about it. For finding things and making routes I use EarthViewer, then plug the info into Mapsend.

Hmmmmm....this wouldn't be for your drone project, would it??? :D
Fuck, how the fuck did you guess that ? Did I leak that ?
I am trying to integrate the draganflyer into my enterprise firewall appliance..... ain't noone seen layer1 security like this shit yet! One problem..... 20 ft. +- location drift, 5 ft. between each rack.... I'm going to try and take care of the final .5-1ft of resolution with 3 transponders in each colo.
Yeah man, it's related :D
