My cousin is up in Gatineau, he's coming down here on Boxing day. He doesn't complain about the cold, He was still riding TODAY! He keeps his bike roadworthy all winter, and goes out on the"nice" days that come up during the winter. Where he lives, they don't salt the road, (they use gravel) so he never worries about the winter salt.
(then again, he anxiously awaits the winter so he can start the snowmobile season!)
All I have to say is what a freakin disaster it was flying on Thursday :shake
Left the house at 8:30am after having to literally dig our way out of the driveway (Orangeville got all snow rather than a mix of snow/rain/freezing rain). We had at least 15cm of new snow on the ground
It took us an hour and a half to get to the airport. :mad
My 11am flight was cancelled :shake
I was standby on all other flights, but got a confirmed flight for 5 pm (yes, a 6 hour wait at the airport) :rolleyes So with all the cancellations, 5pm it was.
The flight boarded on time, but with all the delays, we sat on the runway for almost 2 hours before we took off :eek
Got to Ottawa in record time :laughing BUT
Sat on the runway at Ottawa for another hour and a bit because there were no gates open :doublefli because of all the deicing that had to be done to the outgoing flights.
I didn't make my dad come to get me because of all the delays, got a cab home, and arrived at 9:45pm. Whew! :yawn I slept for 11 hours :laughing
But I'm here safe and sound. It's looking like it's going to be too cold for any precip on Monday, so I should be all good :laughing
Went to check my flight online last night and it's saying my flight is cancelled or doesn't exist :confused So I checked my ticket: My fuckin travel agent booked my return flight for 27 JANUARY not 27 December. :mad
Waited on hold with Air Canada for 50 minutes last night, and was able to switch the flight, but now I don't leave till 7pm. :shake
