In the U.S we dont have to have the MOT and we do not have to have the road tax certificate.

MOT Vehicle Test Certificate - You will need an MOT Certificate (Ministry of Transport test) for all motorcycles over three years old from the date of original registration. It is your responsibility as the owner to ensure that your bike is safe, legal and roadworthy, and while an MOT does test the basic roadworthiness of your bike, it is not a guarantee that you are riding legally as faults can and will develop between MOT tests. Any MOT test must be conducted at an approved Vehicle Testing Station.

(Road Tax Certificate) This is a tax on the ownership of your bike and the relevant tax disc must be displayed clearly on your bike, on the front left-hand side of the machine forward of the engine. It is an offence not to display the disc correctly regardless if you have one or not. You may also be fined for parking or leaving an untaxed motorcycle on a public road. The tax payable will vary with the engine size of your bike.

if this is what your asking about?
