I hardly ever have to buy books. Like I had mentioned in your other post, I have another avid reader in the family and reads a lot. So I can always grab one of his books. I'm really fortunate because we like most of the same authors.
I have on and off weeks, I work close to a Half Price Bookstore so recently I've been getting sucked in, bought four at the start of the week and two last night :laughing 1-3 a week on average
I buy them for classes and such, but for my own pleasure no more than once a month. Rather I usually get a whole bunch as gifts for Xmas/bdays/whatever. Or I go dig 'em up at home b/c we have tons there.
i find that the library is more than adequate for my cheap ass... usually read a book a week, unless i get caught up in something particularly dense. Since i seldom read anything more than once, and with paperbacks up to $8 apiece nowadays, it just doesn't make sense to buy everything i want to read.

That's about the same pace I read, I buy most of my books at Costco for $4.50 :thumb

That's pretty good, but even after late fees i'd be ahead $200 at the end of the year... that's a lotta sammiches :D

What do you do with all those books? Used-book exchange, trash, or do you just have a library room?

i'd probably be more inclined to buy books if i had more places to keep them... even though i usually just borrow, i've still managed to accumulate enough books that i don't want to get rid of to fill my available shelves 2-deep. :shake

I found a used-book store near work. Basically every two books you trade in, you take one.

Matter a fact - I brought two in with me today to work, plan to shoot over there at lunch.
:D
once a week. :shrug
I usually buy a bunch at once and then when I run out, I get more. I usually see more than one at the store that I want to read.
