Yes, I have an SV650 now, and I'm looking for something with a fairing for next spring. I love my bike and how it looks/performs, but I would like some more power, and definitely would like a fairing.

So, here's the list of what I'm considering, mind you, price will be a factor (Especially insurance). So, even though I'd like an RC-51, would it be worth the extra insurance cost and such?

I'd get an RR, but in a year everyone and their mother will have one. The RC-51 however will go out of production soon, and down the line be one of those cool rare bikes. SO, I'd go with the Arsey.

yeah, the fact that the RC weighs almost 90lbs. more than my SV is a turn-off...

but it's soooo damn sexy, and I'd rather have a litre twin than a litre 4 :)

Hands down the RC51 (for me anyhow). I already have one (and LOVE it!) and would absolutely love having one just for Track Day duty.

As far as the 600RR, I'd love to trade my 2k F4 in for one. I'm torn between upgrading the F4 to a 954RR or now a 600RR. Hmmmm decisions, decisions...

I've had some saddle time on a 6R, it'll be interesting to see how the newest edition of the Kawi makes out. Personally, it's just not my cup o tea. Doesn't mean it's not a kick ass bike though! :)

I4's are better than V-twins............IMO

Why do you think SuperBike made the rule that allowed 1000cc twins against 750cc I4's? Now that they will both be 1000cc, watch the I4's wipe the track with the V-twins.

Quackpot, hold off on trading the F4 in on a 600RR or 954RR. I know it's tough with such awesome new models available, but in another year...or at the very most 2 years, There will be a 998RR and it WILL be the Supreme Machine! ALL new motor, ALL new chassis. It WILL kcik the shite out of the R1's an GSXR1K's.

He has a point there, but you could always trade up now and then trade then as well...

I4's generally are better, yes, but I just love the sound of the twin. Although, when riding the 929, the smoothness of it is astounding. :)

Why is that? Were you planning on carrying it around with you?

You cannot really feel the weight of this bike. Just adding slip ons looses like 10 pounds. My RC feels lighter than my F4 did and corners so much better. Now that may not apply to the 600RR but I'll bet the comfort between the RC and RR will be a toss up.

He sounds a bit new to the sport... So an RC is not a smart choice.

Get one of the 600's, whichever looks the best to you because they are all going to be nearly the same in performance.

you got me there :) This has been my first year riding. I do plan on hitting track events next year, no matter which bike I have, so, well, I don't know where I'm going with that :laughing

But after doing a bunch of riding on a 929 this year, anything with balls down low, and tall gears is what I would love to get my hands on. I don't go speeding around, it's just nicer to not have to shift much :)

but is that even an upgrade from the SV? I mean, the SV's power would scare me when I first got to riding...now it doesn't.

Go for a new 600cc machine. If shifting less and having more midrange is important to you, keep in mind that the '03 6R is 636cc so there will be more low-mid power over a 599cc machine.

so why are the formula extreme bikes so much slower than the vtwins and 750's?

I'm going by lap times.Pridemore's(or buckmaster,zemke,ect..) fastest times were always at least 1.5 seconds slower than the ama superbikes. They have at least 15-20 more hp than the superbikes but were always slower.I know it's not the talent cause primore has more talent than picotte(m/o)and he was always slower than the pos austin/hms ducati's...
