I did not know some of these things. I hope none were in the MSF class - to think I passed that. :laughing

Michigan motorcycle requirements

Anyway, MI seems to be pretty easy on a lot of things. Turn signals are not necessary and you can have music playing in your helmet. :thumb Some states say you HAVE to have turn signals and htey need to be 9" apart.

Probably would fail the noise test on my bike, but then so would most harleys on the road. :shrug
Thanks for the info John. :thumb

Nope, don't see any problems with Georgia laws. Lower maximum liability, plus they aren't a no-fault state = cheaper insurance!!

:D
The women at the SOS Office forgot to include my MC endorsement when I swapped my CA drivers license for a MI one...took her 20 minutes to verify that I actually had a MC endorsement from CA before she'd put it on my MI license.

I was more upset at having to pay $38.50 for a MI drivers license...man, I thought CA was expensive. :mad

Well, you know the fee isn't going to a good cause like keeping the roads in good shape! :rolleyes

On the bright side, your fee for your CY endorsement still goes towards the MSF. :thumb
Yep, The real goofy thing about this whole ordeal is Mrs. G. decided that MSF would be user pay ealier last year, so she cut it from the budget, Then....OOPS! Someone set her straight. The funny thing is IT"S ALL USER PAY!!!, THE MONEY DOESN'T COME FROM THE STATE!!!
Thanks for the first rant this new years.
Buellin around in Central Michigan

I didn't know that :confused I thought the state put money towards the program. $25/person doesn't seem like it'd cover equipment, facilities, and time (both instructors and administration).

Esp b/c it costs hundreds of dollars in other states.
I think it comes out of the $13 bucks you pay at the state to get your DL. It's been a while since I've taken the MSF course tho'. All I remember is signing the petition to keep MSF when it came to money and such.
Yeah but all those $13 add up. Look at insurance on yer cage, at least $1000, per year, multiply that by all the cars on the road, then subtract all the accidents, then look whos got the biggest buildings in the countryside.

On the smiley side of things, I rode today! It started sleeting only 2 miles from home.
I had to pay $175 in CA when I took the MSF class. :rant
I Paid the $300 At HD. may be kinda steep but the class size is small and i felt comfortable at the end. alllthough it doesnt prepare you that much for the test questions at Sec of State
The michigan MSF course does cost a couple hundred per person. The $25 is just the co-pay that the end user pays. I forget who funds the other part.
