I'm thinking of doing a custom mod on my bike.. I really don't want to spend the money for an undertail, so i'm thinking of moving the license plate in front of the rear wheel (yes, I'll have an officer friend of mine make sure it is legally seen first), getting rid of the rest of the black fender/turn signal stalks. I found some really nice turn signals that I could mount on the remaining black plastic that would allow them to be seen from behind as well as the side.... now, what are your opinions? Thanks when the time comes for me to do this mod, I'll post the pics to show how it turned out...

I have been thinking of doing something similar to mine. I keep looking at it and imagining what it will look like after I chop it,all that plastic just dosn't look necessary, but I haven't had the guts to break out the dremel yet. ..... post some pics if you do it.

In Fla. the officer has to be able to read your tag from 50 ft, I guess if you add a light of some kind you will be OK.

I do have a light it is mounted between the plate and the inspection sticker holder. I know the pic is fuzzy, bu you see the plate w/ the blue tape on it , and then a red thing and then the black and blue thing. The red thing is a 3rd brake light/accessory light that i mounted on for that reason.

That will be the catch. Some states require lighting, some don't.

I have a few friends on the force, so i'll be asking their opinions.. I like the look of undertails, but I can't seem to find any that just.. get me going like I want them to... if I need a light, I'll just run a license light on a vehicle somewhere down there... I think it will look good.. I'll probably start the project this week... I'll take step by step pics if I think about it...

I like the way that looks. Be sure it's leagal. Got in trouble with that as I did not have a light on it. Cop was having a good day and just gave me a warning.

I do have a light on mine it is between the license plate and the inspection sticker and is about 6inches long, it is a running and stop light.
