I just saw them at the Cycle World show. The guy says the new FF-4 (?) is different than the European version, though he wouldn't tell me in what ways. They have a lot of liner size options and the guy fit me with a perfect lid in 15 minutes or so, where nearly an hour at the Arai stand got me sore ears and frustration. I think the liner material is much nicer than the RX-7 Corsair (I shave my head so I'm very aware of liner quality!) and the lid retails for half the price.
I don't really care for the graphics that they're sending to the U.S. market, though.
To give you an idea of how custom fitted these things can be, I wear a large shell with a 15 mm liner and 26 mm cheek pads. They've got 3 or 4 thicknesses of liners and pads to chose for each shell size.
I'd rate the helmet just behind an X-11, but better than the RF-1000 and not far from the Z-Two. It's much nicer than the Arai. For the money, I'd get an X-11, but if you see one you like, or if you just like to be different, it's a great lid. Honestly, if they had one that I thought looked a lot better than a Shoei I'd get it based on aesthetics, and I'm not very driven by that sort of thing.
