I dont know what site i went to, but now my "homepage" is this search page, and i get pop ups all over. I even have my homepage set to About: blank, and this is still what comes up when i hit home.

I ran Spybot, and I ran AdAware. Cleaned up alotta stuff, but this still remains. Also i keep getting in my Favorites a ton of porn sites... i delete em, next day, they are back.

Is there any other programs I could run to clean this up? Other tricks? Its my work PC and its pissing me off.

And i dont esp. want IT coming down to fix it if i dont have to...

Type in about.blank into google. They it will list a bunch of different methods to get rid of it. Just keep trying them until one works

Go through your Add/Remove Programs list and look for "odd" or "unusual" entries that have likely been added very recently. Also find the toolbar controls and unselect any of the google search and/or other "optional" bar components. Do leave the address and basic navigation buttons.

Check out http://www.spywareinfo.com and download hijack this. Search the forms for the type of page that comes up.

What you have is malaware...not spyware. It usually installs the .dll and .exe files in different folders in your program files. That's the reason why spybot & adaware doesn't delete them. If it does delete it... the program ends up re-installing itself. They are sneaky programs, but they can be deleted. You just need to know where it installed.

Be sure to get all your updates too. :thumb
