I got this note this morning, wondering how many others have?

DAVID EVANS & CO. CHAMBER.
(Legal Practitioners)
Blk 804-Law House Building
Marina, Lagos - Nigeria.
PHONE,+234-8033235941.

Dear Beloved,

It is a privileged to hear from God and it gives me joy to relate my testimony to you haven received instruction from God through divine revelation.

And I have the pleasure to share my testimony with you, having seen your contact from the Internet. I am David Evans, the legal adviser to late Mr. John Duke couple that lived in my Country Nigeria for 32 years before they both died in the plane crash late last year.

These couples were good Christians, they so dedicated to God but they had no child till they died.throughout their stay in my country, they acquired alot of properties like lands, house properties, etc.

As their legal adviser, before thAeir death, the husband Mr. John Duke instructed me to write his WILL.Because they had no child, they dedicated their wealth to God. According to the WILL, the properties have to be sold and the money be given out to a ministry for the work of God. As their legal adviser, all the documents for the properties were in my care. He gave me the authority to sell the properties and give out the fund to the Ministries for the work of God.

In short, after their death, I sold all the properties as instructed and I was able to realized $5.6million US dollars). Instead of giving the fund out for the work of God as instructed by the owner before his death, I converted the fund to myself with the intention of investing the fund abroad for my personal use. I was afraid of putting the fund in the Bank, because I have to give account to the bank on how I got the money. I then packaged the fund in a trunk boxes and deposited the trunk boxes with a security company in holland. I registered the content of the trunk boxes as Gold Bars. Now, the security company believes that what I deposited with them was Gold Bars.

I had encounter with Christ when Pastor Paul was preaching the word of God on television. After hearing the word of God, I gave my life to Christ and became a born again Christian. As a born again Christian, I started reading my bible and one day, the Lord opened my eyes and I discovered that the only way I could have peace in my life is to do what is lawful and right by giving out the fund as instructed for the work of God by the owner before his death.

I have asked God for forgiveness and I know that God have forgiven me. But I have to do what is lawful and right in the sight of God by giving out the fund to the chosen ministry for the purpose of God's work as instructed by the owner before his death.

After my fasting and prayers, I asked God to make his choice and direct me to a honest Christian or the chosen ministry that deserves this fund by his Grace.I then came across your address on the Internet as I was browsing through a Christian site, so this is how I got your contact information, and I then decided to contact you for the fund to be used wisely for things that will glorify the name of God.

I have notified the Security Company where I deposited the trunk boxes that contained the fund, that somebody some one is coming to claim the trunk boxes on my behalf of which they accepted.

So if you know that you will use this fund honestly for things that will glorify God's name, then do urgently contact me back first through this my private email address and the details will be given to you on how you will be able to receive the fund in your country through the security company.

You should also forward to me your telephone and fax number for easy communication and to fax you the documents concerning the trunk boxes.

Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

Yours in Christ.

Yeah, I've gotten versions of that before. It's just a variation on the old Nigerian scam---although the new trend of doing it "in the name" is a bit disturbing...

I always send a letter asking them what can I do to help, string them along and waste a little of their time

Reading that already wasted too much of my time. :D

:laughing

and I agree, its disturbing to see people using the name above all names to try to lure people into their scams....

Mat 24:5 NASB "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many."

I think we'll probably have to get used to it more and more. The people that have screwed me over the most in my life have all said they were Christians. One really needs a healthy dose of skepticism when it comes to believing someone truly follows Christ above all else nowdays.

Adam it is funny that you mention that, just this past week, I signed on to a bunch of new sport bike sites for business, I always use the same sig, I wonder sometimes if someone reads that and figures I must be a crook because I use something related to Christ as my sig. I too have had some of my biggest disappointments from other Christians

In my experience, a real Christian does not ask for financial support from total strangers.

A real Christian would send out the call for help to people who know him to be a faithful Christian. He does not ask people to blindly trust his claim nor uses Christ as a marketing tool to raise money.

I agree BG!
About a year or so ago I was getting some more business cards for my business printed and I thought about putting a cross or a fish and a scripture either in one corner or on the back of the card as a possible witnessing tool or conversation starter.
After thinking this over I decided not to put anything on it stating I was a Christian. Reason being, I did not want to give the impression that I was using God to lure new clients or to use God to make me look trust worthy.
My business cards only have information about my photography business and my CSBA cards have all of my personal information.
I pray that God send me enough clients to survive and I try to let my words and actions while I am working for them be my witness.
Please don't think that I am saying I am against doing it, I just felt led not too at this time.

i got one of these a short time ago, he needed an account # and phone / fax so he could transfer a large sum of money to me. I asked if i could open a new account with BOTH of our names on it so we could both be responsible if any wrongdoing were to occur. Well he said that his name could not be brought in it because he was not to be involved in the money. I told him i would help him, but i needed to know if i could trust him. I said trust is a big concern with me and that if i were to do business with him i would have to trust him. I went on to say that he was to send me $1000.00 USD in the form of CASH, un-marked non sequential bills to my home address. I told him that if he was to trust me with several million dollars would it not be in his best intrest to see if i was trustworthy with just $1000.00?? well i got my anwser in the form of accusations and hate, he 1st accused me of trying to slap him in the face when he was being kind, then he said that i was untrustworthy. Well that was it i told him that i wouldnt do business and that all the E-mails were forwarded to the anti-terrorism unit at MacDill A.F.B. and his telephone number as well.....be careful

I get so many of these scams (at one point I was getting 2 or 3 a day), if I were to do that, I would be wasting all my time with these bastards, and would have no time left for anything else.

Remember these guys are thiefs. Plain and simple. Nothing will stop them, including using the Lord's name in Vain.

The best thing you can do really, is hit the delete key. It's sad to think they always get a couple fish with their wide net, otherwise they wouldn't keep broadcasting these e-mails.

There is some amusing commentary on the net from those who have strung these scamsters along, sounding sincere the whole way. Some of it would even make a good book but it is clear that in order to make it worth writing about, you'd have to fritter away a lot of your time.

I'd rather spend my time on my bikes, thank you.
