Very stupid computer problem

262 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  2up
I can't get the disc I have in my CD burner drive to eject. I have tried to eject manually, and via the eject command. I have restarted my computer, and done a hard shut down and tried to get it to eject, and, nothing.

The disc in the drive is a disc I burned of pictures off of my mom's computer. All I've done with it is copy the pictures to my hard drive.

Any ideas of what the problem is and how to solve it would be appreciated.

There should be a very small pin-hole next to the drive door...you can straighten a paper clip and poke around in there. I wish I could be more precise, but it's kinda like pickin' a lock or finding the G spot...you just have to expirement a little.

Ok, it's a good thing that finding the g-spot isn't usually my job, because my lover would be very unhappy!! :laughing

I got it open and got the disc out, but, it wouldn't close on it's own, so I had to close it, and now when I try to eject it, it won't again. Is there a way I can find out what the prob is?

AND, Thank you!!! :thumb
Sounds like your power supply in the CD has taken a dump. Reboot the machine...look to see if the light comes on the CD at all during the reboot, and also look at the POST messages adn see if it recognizes the CD drive.

Thanks... I don't know what the prob was, but, until I rebooted, it was still 'reading' the disc that was no longer in it. It seems fine now, but, I'm almost afraid to use it again for fear it might be stuck.

BTW, :hi!! Ciao!! Come sta? Buon Natale e Buon Anno Nuovo! ;)
Grazie signora bella!
