I just got this email from a coworker

I have given up on sodas and what not for good old water myself but thought this was a good read and wanted to pass it on.

I actually drink very little soda anymore...3-4 cans a week would be considered a lot.

I also found that you can drink too much water...it'll screw up you system just as easily as not drinking enough.

Water does nothing for me but make me pee alot. id DOES NOT solve my hunger pains as people tell me it should. I drink at least 10 cups a day.

I've been saying it for a long time. The reason SOOOOO many people are SOOOOO tired is because they're dehydrated. If I want to wake up in the mornings, I drink a big 'ole glass of water, not coffee :shake

Jamus, it takes ALOOOOOOOT of water to screw up your system. And even then, it doesn't really "screw it up". You get too much water in your blood and ya end up being a little groggy. And this is ONLY a real problem for diabetics. The average person would have to drink several gallons of water in a row to have any harm done by drinking too much water :thumb

By the way, if your urine is yellow (I mean yellow, not a hint of yellow)...you're not drinking enough water. A fully hydrated person who has cleaned most of the toxins from their body (one of the main reasons you drink water, to allow the removal of wastes) will have almost clear urine. Just a little health tip for ya folks :thumb

Same here. I always drink a big ass glass of orange juice then a bigger glass of water.

Try putting an egg in a bowl of Coke - it'll eat the shell off in a few days and leave a membrane around the yoke/white. Kinda cool.

I usually drink water all day at work, but at night i like coke w/ my meal or just when i feel like it. coke might be bad for us but would about everything else we eat. I'm 90% of what most americans eat isn't go for us :shrug

I agree, drink more water during the day and less coke. You will sleep better, be more hydrated, and besides, peeing lots is fun.

Origins: Many of the entries above are just simple household tips involving Coca-Cola. That you can cook and clean with Coke is relatively meaningless from a safety standpoint -- you can use a wide array of common household substances (including water) for the same purposes; that doesn't necessarily make them dangerous. The fact is that all carbonated soft drinks contain carbonic acid, which is moderately useful for tasks such as removing stains and dissolving rust deposits (although plain soda water is much better for such purposes than Coca-Cola or other soft drinks, as it doesn't leave a sticky sugar residue behind). Carbonic acid is relatively weak, however, and people have been drinking carbonated water for many years with no detrimental effects.

The rest of the claims offered here are, in a word, stupid. Coca-Cola does contain small amounts of citric acid (from the orange, lemon, and lime oils in its formula) and phosphoric acid. However, all the insinuations about the dangers these acids might pose to people who drink Coca-Cola ignore a simple concept familiar to any first-year chemistry student: concentration. Coca-Cola contains less citric acid than orange juice does, and the concentration of phosphoric acid in Coke is far too small (a mere 11 to 13 grams per gallon of syrup, or about 0.20 to 0.30 per cent of the total formula) to cause harm. The only people who proffer the ridiculous statements that Coca-Cola will dissolve a steak, a tooth, or a nail in a day or two are people who have never actually tried any of these things, because they just don't happen. (Anyone who conducts these experiments will find himself at the end of two days with a whole tooth, a whole nail, and one very soggy t-bone.)

The next time you're stopped by a highway patrolman, try asking him if he's ever cleaned blood stains off a highway with Coca-Cola. If you're lucky, by the time he stops laughing he'll have forgotten about the citation he was going to give you.

Never tried in Coke but it works in Viniger.
