Is the Valvoline you have for motorcycles or cars and trucks?
I heard you should never use automotive lubricants in a motorcycle! :crackup

Really, what you have is an excellent grease. I assume by waterproof your referring to marine bearing grease? I think that would work fine, but really isnt neccessary. Unless you ride your bike into a lake!:laughing

Silkolene Pro_RG2 grease "whiz"... It comes in a can like cheese-whiz! Awesome!

Only squirt out what you need and the rest stays super clean...

http://www.silkolenestore.com/ (the pic they have is wrong but it comes in a 500gm tub or the 14oz cheese-whiz).
That rocks, I always seem to get debris in the tub or grease.

I heard you should not mix grease types, and as far as I know the suzuki grease is a BG 1 grease and most others are gc something rated, and since my Quad calls for teh same grease as the bike, I would like to use teh correct stuff since teh quad may go under water sometimes.
