Well I might be moving the tv downstairs cause I might be getting a nicephatty xmas present this yr :) so I might be moving all the game systems downstairs and dont' really want to custom order a cat5 wire for my xbox, so I was wondering who has the xbox live adapter and how's the range on them? I'm kind of pushing it cause it's kinda far away from one end to the other end of the house.

Hey Dan didn't you get this?

I've got the linksys one for my Xbox. I'd always recommend the microsoft one first, but the only complaint I have with my Linksys is that it was a BITCH to setup, however Linksys walked me through it and it works great now. No regrets on buying it. As far as range, it's in my living room next to my tv and my router is in the office; 2 walls, and about 25 feet away.
man i'm really stretchin it cause from my router to where i want it is really far.

I think i'll just have redmond cables and have them custom make one fo rme and i'll just run it from my room all the way downstairs. Throw some staple gun on the wall and should be set :D

Ha, that's about what I have right now - just a 25ft cat5 cable running across the room, down the hall, and into the bedroom where the router is. I'll probably pick up the Xbox wireless unit pretty soon - I'm getting tired of tripping over cables.
+1

I have my Xbox downstairs and I just throw a Cat5 cable over the balcony of my bedroom down to the livingroom. :D
I use the linksys works great :D
Don't you guys think that $100 is a little expensive for a wireless adapter? I was looking for one yesterday, and just amazed at how much they are charging. I mean, all the ethernet chips are already in the Xbox, so all I need is a wireless bridge--they're gonna charge a $100 for that?
i can probably buy a nice really really long custom calbe for 40 bucks! taken cared of
I have my Xbox connected to a Netgear hub, then from there it is connected to my Netgear Wireless Bridge which talks to my Netgear Access point upstairs. This works really good because i can plug in my Xbox, and ReplayTV. And in the future when i need a port for something else it will be available.
