Supposedly it's going to be big enough to hold the Eddie Aikau with the current swell that's hitting Hawaii . I love surfing but start getting sketched once it's over the 10-12' range - call me a wussy Easterner if you want .

I guess my personal life goal now would be to marry someone rich and famous - though I'd settle for just rich .

The biggest surf I've been out in is 15-18' according to NOAA - I did not have my tape measure handy - so other than to me was freakin huge and I shall not attempt it again I'll take their word for it . I was using a 6'4" board shaped for our average 4-5' waves and it was utterly hopeless so after 3 paddle-paddle-paddle -up-FAWK-plummet-spin cycle moments I went in crying for my mom .Somewhere I have a picture of a friend of mine dropping in on one of the biggest waves I've seen or heard of on the East Coast before Hurricane Bob hit . Going from his board's 6'8" length , it was 21-23' - I really should scan it . Nobody believes that it was New England but all I can offer for proof is him in the same spring suit on the same board at the same beach when it's a more normal 6' . Had I been out when that rolled in , I think I would've just started paddling towards the horizon and hoped for the Coast Guard to send a helo . :laughing
