How do I adjust the throttle "free play" on an F4i?

I am confused as to which direction to turn the nut. Could someone please describe which direction losens and which tightens?
I need to get rid of some "free play" and don't want to screw it up.

The manual is a little too vague.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

You'll want to loosen the lock-nut (the smaller one) away from the larger elongated nut. Once it's loose, rotate the larger adjustment nut until you have the desired freeplay. Then hold the longer one still while you tighten down the lock-nut.

That's where the problem lies. Once I loosen the little lock nut, do I turn the long adjusting nut so that it moves left or right (when sitting on the seat)?

Thanks,

:p You guys are killing me!

When you say clockwise, which way are you looking at the nut. From the left side looking at the nut or from the right side looking at the nut?

Thanks

From the north-east. :redflip

Lemme put it this way...you want to lengthen the cable to tighten it. Whichever way the nut turns to lengthen the cable...turn it that way. You'll see the nut move out (away from the clip-on) and the throttle play will diminish. Moving it out will be harder to turn than moving it in.
If the play increases, just turn it the other way - no big deal.
But I'll repeat: don't tighten it too much or it'll bind when you turn the bars. Test it first.
